Worlds most popular online game is powered by Python

Well the backend online gaming servers are built mostly using Python, not the core game released on the PC/Consoles.

While browsing some Python blogs, I found a blog written by Nadia Alramli, whom is a Python programmer who works at Demonware, which is owned by a well known company Activision Blizzard. Even if you do not know video games, you should know about Activision and their most popular game Call of Duty. It is being played by all the kids these days, if you have a child over the age of 13, they are most likely playing this game.

According to a recent job posting for a software architect:

DemonWare, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, are specialists in creating client- and server-side networking software and services for video games such as Skylanders, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 3. As a software and services company we develop and deploy robust, scalable services to support millions of users often with often rapid turn-around times. We provide a suite of hosted services such as matchmaking, leaderboards and user profile storage to serve the needs of online games. The core is a suite of services written in Python. We have an opening in our Vancouver or Dublin office for a software architect who will be responsible for the design and direction of this suite.

If you are interested in this opportunity and have 3+ Years of experience in Python, and love the games developed by Activision, then I would recommend you visit the job posting and apply. Just being part of this company ensures your job security, as it's very unlikely that Call of Duty will be going away anytime soon. I would apply myself, however I am unable to relocate at this time.
